In 2006, National League of Poker (NLOP) launched as the largest prize-based, FREE-to-play on-line poker site. To date, they have awarded over $1 million in cash and prizes. Players on the site are able to participate in daily tournaments and have access to an archive of video advice from Mike Sexton. In addition to on-line play, the organization has begun to host live-events across America.

On May 3^rd, a NLOP event will be held at The Silks poker room located at Tampa Bay Downs. Players must register for this event and registration is limited to the first 300 players. Registration begins at 11:30 am and the tournament will begin at 1:00pm. There is a $40 player service fee for this tournament. First and second place winners from each event will earn a seat at the 2009 NLOP Players Championship in Las Vegas and two complementary hotel nights for the event. If you miss the May 3^rd event, there will be another NLOP tournament at The Silks on June 7^th.

May 3^rd will be an exciting day to visit Tampa Bay Downs. As the last day of the racing season, Tampa Bay Downs is hosting Fan Appreciation Day at the tracks. There will be FREE Grandstand admission, and $1.00 beer, soda and Nathan’s Famous hotdogs.

The poker room will also be busy offering various cash games including Limit and No-Limit Texas Hold’em, Omaha and Crazy pineapple. There are numerous jackpots and other promotions for high hands. See you at the tables this Sunday at The Silks poker room…

A new tournament was added today! Knoxville, Tennessee. Check it out.

Get your registration in early. This is going to be a full tour very quickly. KnoxVegasPoker, who are the promotors of this tournament, is adding air fare to the two winners of the Vegas seat in the August 1 championship as a special prize from them.

WORKING TOURNAMENTS

We are working on the Wheeling Island Casino. We hope to offer a tournament there. We also have a Shreveport tourney in the works. I am sorry to report that Tunica is not going to happen for this promotion. There is also a possible tournament in Knoxville, KY. We have attempted a tournament on the West Coast, but have been very unsuccessful in finding a casino to hold one in. We have tried. Watch for the posting of the Kansas City tournament on May 2.

KANSAS CITY LIVE TOURNAMENT POSTED SOON FOR MAY 2

DDPL will offer a one-day tournament on May 2 at Side Pockets. This is a come-one-come-all, no membership required tournament. Check this site and DDPL for more information. All players must register through this site to be eligible.

A glitch in dates on tournaments in Traverse City, Michigan on 5-23 and Denham Springs on 3-28. The dates were off on the months. Look for new confirmation page with correct date on your e-mail.

Register For 3-28 Live Tournament in Denham Springs, LA

On Friday 3-20 you can register for the first live tournament with NLOP LIVE ACROSS AMERICA. The tournament is in Denham Springs, LA near Baton Rouge. I will be there to welcome you and give you a free month subscription in VIP NLOP. There will be some serious poker as well as a lot of fun and surprises from the Iron Warriors.

You can view the prize packages from NLOP on the prize page of this site. Two seats to the NLOP Player’s Championship in Las Vegas with other perks will be given away plus more.

WATCH THIS SITE for new postings, dates and tournaments in the next few days. Put the dates of March 28 as an additiional date for a tournament at 7:00 pm in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Also, May 23 at Turtle Creek Casino, Grand Traverse Resort, Traverse City, Michigan, starting at 10 am. A one day tournament in Kansas City, Missouri on June 20 by DDPL will also be added. Details, registration page, etc. will be posted next week. Make your plans now to attend one or more events.
